We are seeking a skilled and CASA-certified Drone Pilot to join our aerial survey team and support a range of projects with high-quality drone data capture.

About the Role

As a Drone Pilot, you will be responsible for planning and conducting aerial surveys, inspections, and mapping using CASA-certified drones. You will capture accurate imagery and data to support utility locating, site mapping, and progress monitoring while ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CASA-certified drones for aerial photography, videography, and data collection
  • Plan and execute flight missions according to project requirements and safety protocols
  • Process and deliver high-quality orthomosaic images, 3D models, and survey data
  • Ensure compliance with CASA regulations including REPL and REOC certifications
  • Maintain drone equipment and keep flight logs up to date
  • Liaise with site teams, clients, and regulatory bodies as needed
  • Monitor weather and environmental conditions to ensure safe flight operations

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid CASA Remote Pilot Licence (REPL) and Remote Operator’s Certificate (REOC)
  • Proven experience operating drones for commercial or industrial projects
  • Strong understanding of drone technology, flight planning, and data processing software
  • Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Valid Australian driver’s licence
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions

Highly Regarded (but not essential)

  • Experience with GIS and photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy)
  • Experience working on construction, civil, or utility projects
  • First Aid certification
